Beltrán: "We have things to improve, but we achieved out objective"
The Argentinian reflects on the Copa del Rey win
Valencia CF forward Lucas Beltrán talked about his goal contribution and more, after the final whistle in the Copa del Rey win over FC Cartagena.
Playing alongside Hugo Duro
“You always adapt to what the game, the coach, and the different moments of the match demand. I always try to find solutions on the pitch. I like to move around to find spaces where I'm more comfortable.”
The game
“I don’t know if we approached the first half as we should have. We made some mistakes and we were a bit hurried with our play. We corrected quite a few things at halftime, and in the end, the goal we had was to go through to the next round. We have many things to improve, but we achieved our objective.”
His goal
“I’m happy. Firstly, for having got into the next round, which is the most important thing, and then for the goal, since it was something I had been looking for and really wanted. We work every day to take Valencia CF as far as possible.”
The fans
“We want to tell them that we have a lot to improve, we are aware of it, and we need to keep working on it. We ask them to continue supporting us as they always do -wherever we go.”
The halftime team talk
“The coach told us we were rushing things too much, attacking too directly, and were too desperate to score, and we were getting mixed up. He tried to calm us down, which was important when it came to us to going out strong for the second half.””.
